What is Canvas?

Canvas is a learning management system that Maricopa Community Colleges use. This LMS software is created by Instructure and currently replaced our use of Blackboard for 15 years.

How do I get a Canvas Course?

All Canvas users must attened a required Canvas Basics training before requesting their course(s) to be flagged. Courses are flagged in SIS for Canvas uses and can take 24 to 48 hours to populate into the LMS.

Can I create a video using Canvas?

Yes, every content function has the feature to add audio and video.

Do I have to make an appointment?

No, but it is preferred this will ensure you will get the right instructional support.

What is the process to teach a Hybrid or Online course at PVCC?

PVC has a mandatory requirement for developing and teaching online. Contact the CTL for more information.

Can we check out equipment at the CTL?

Yes, you can check out technical equipment; however, you must go through PVC Help Desk.

How often do you do training on Canvas?
